Do you feel that you are always ‘knocking on doors’?

Private rented housing, at an affordable price, is in very short supply in our area.

Rentstart was created to fulfil a need for financial assistance, advice and understanding within the private rented sector.

We are able to help through our knowledge of local housing issues and by offering a ‘guarantee deposit bond’ to Landlords, who may not otherwise feel secure in letting their accommodation.

Charitable Industrial and Provident Society in 1996, to help people who have no priority (and little likelihood) for statutory housing, resulting from the Housing Act of 1996. The subsequent Homelessness Act of 2002 also has implications for our activities. We work closely with many local organisations, trusts and agencies in order to fulfil our aim of alleviating homelessness in the borough.

Spelthorne Rentstart was started with funding from Spelthorne Borough Council.
We continue to receive their support and also obtain financial aid from the Big Lottery Fund,.as well as several other organisations.

The Committee......

Rentstart is organised through a committee of approximately 10 people, all unpaid volunteers.
The full committee meets quarterly to consider a standard agenda, with occasional supplementary meetings when required.
We are always ready to welcome new members, especially if you have related knowledge or a business/professional background.
